2012-06-20

1. How come you started to play volleyball and how old were you?

I started playing at age 16 because my mom made me try out for the Volleyball team. I was 100% a basketball player and didn’t want to tryout for. Volleyball since I thought it was a girls sport. I am so happy she mad me tryout because I have loved it ever since.

2. How did you end up in FVBK?

After college I got married and got an office job. I decided that an office job would never work for me so I thought I would try to continue playing. I had an agent from Bring It USA that connected my wife and I with teams in Sweden. I luckily got Falkenberg.

The final block with BIG for the SM Gold!!!!

My best memory was the entire experience. So many amazing friends and great people. The fans were also amazing.

What is your worst memory?

Riding my bike home in 3 feet of snow after a match in Falkenberg. They did not plow the snow off the road yet and I had to carry my bike home. I also forgot extra socks for after the match so my feet were completely wet.

Idag är det beachvolleyboll på heltid för Casey Patterson

What is your craziest memory?

Either  1. Patrick Apricio hitting the hardest ball ever off a guys face then straight to the ceiling while blocking (The “Booyah Dance” was born at that moment. )
Or 2. Jimmie Ivarson while blocking a ball that went through his hands and down his back, while landing he accidentally kicked the ball right back over the net. Amazing!!!

9. Can you tell us a story about your time in FVBK that was a secret back then?

Patrick Apricio was the founder and president of ” Pimpers Paradise”!!

10. Do you miss anything from your time in FVBK?

I miss the team, coach and fans. Also the lifestyle. I felt so safe and at peace in Falkenberg.
